Overview of the treatment

Acupuncture is based on the theory that an energy force, Chi, flows through our body along 12 special channels called meridians. As long as the energy can flow freely good health is maintained, however, if meridians are blocked illness ensues. The aim of Traditional Chinese Medicine is to treat the person rather than the disease. It is one the oldest medicine in the world.

Acupuncture is also helpful with following ailments: Me/MS, Asthma, Backache, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Digestive Disorders, Gynaecological Problems, Headache / Migraine, Irregular Periods/ Menopause, Polycystic ovaries, Joint Pain, Skin conditions, Sinusitis. How is the treatment done

Acupuncture uses fine, disposable and sterile needles which are inserted at specific points to unblock meridians which restore the flow of Chi. These points may also be treated by warming with a burning herb, by gentle electrical pulse or by laser. The needles are thin like a hair and certainly have nothing in common with a syringe needle. A slight pricking sensation is felt as the needle pierces the skin and sometimes a tingling sensation is experiences while the needles are in place.  On average per treatment, two to eight points are needled bilaterally.
